Writing at the Speed of Thought
Alternatively titled: How I turned wrist pain into a writing revolution
Hello fellow datanistas!
Have you ever felt trapped by your own body, unable to express the ideas swirling in your mind? In my this blog post, I describe how I faced this exact challenge and discovered a transformative way to write that not only alleviated my wrist pain but also enhanced my creative process.
In recent months, I've been dealing with wrist pain that made typing increasingly difficult. What started as a limitation, though, led me to discover something unexpected: a better way to write that not only solved my physical constraints but revolutionized how I capture my thoughts. The solution came through dictation and AI tools like VoicePal and Better Dictation, which allowed me to write at the speed of thought without the physical strain. (FYI, this is not a sponsored post; I just genuinely like both pieces of software!) This approach not only helped me manage my pain but also improved my writing process by capturing nonlinear ideas more effectively. By using AI for initial edits and maintaining my authentic voice through careful review, I've found a way to keep my writing genuine and true to my thoughts.
What started as a solution to physical pain has become something much more valuable: a way to write at the speed of thought. It's not just about accessibility – it's about removing the barriers between our ideas and their expression. For me, that's absolutely huge.
If you're facing similar challenges, whether they're physical limitations or just the frustration of thoughts moving faster than your fingers, I encourage you to read my full blog post here. Feel free to forward it to anyone who might benefit from these insights.
Happy writing!
