Hello fellow datanistas!
As you all know, I’ve been really putting AI-assisted coding with Cursor to the test. One weekend, I decided to embark on a project that not only put my coding skills but also reinforced in me the idea that, when integrated well with the UI, AI-assisted programming gives coders wings. Inspired by Dan Ariely’s Shortwhale, I set out to recreate an email service that integrates FAQs with user interactions, and the results were nothing short of enlightening.
Using a blend of HTMX, SQLite, FastAPI, and the magic of AI coding with Cursor, I managed to get the core functionality up and running in less than two hours! This experience has changed my approach to developing web apps, making it more declarative, faster and accessible to me than ever before. I've detailed the entire process, the tools used, and the insights gained in my latest blog post. You can read all about it here.
I invite you to explore how AI can streamline your projects and perhaps inspire you to undertake your own. If you find the post enlightening, please feel free to share it with others who might also appreciate the quick wins that AI-assisted coding can offer. Let's keep pushing the boundaries of what we can achieve with technology!
Cheers,
Eric
