How I made a local pre-commit hook to resize images
alternatively titled, "an empowering journey in making custom powertools"
Hello fellow datanistas!
Have you ever wondered how to automate the process of resizing images in your repository before committing changes? I have figured out how to do so, and it’s reminded me about how empowering it is to be able to code up stuff!
I've wrote a blog post detailing how to do so. This hook primarily resizes images, particularly logos, within the repository, saving you countless hours of manual resizing. Intrigued? You can read all about it here.
This post not only explains the function of the hook but also provides a high-level overview of the script and a breakdown of the configuration for the pre-commit hook. I think it will help any coder looking to implement custom hooks to accelerate their development process and maintain code and asset quality.
If you find it helpful, please do forward it to others who you think may benefit from it. Let's continue to learn and grow together in our coding journey! Happy coding!
Cheers,
Eric
