Changing up the format and schedule of my newsletter
Dear fellow datanistas!
Thank you all for your patience during my radio silence over the past few months. I’ve taken some time to figure out how I can bring value that also differentiates from other newsletters (and indeed, other sources of information).
Previously I had used this newsletter to share new data science related tools that have come up across the web. However, as I’ve progressed in my career, I’ve become personally less excited about tools themselves and more excited about the practice of data science. These include ways of working, the tools that support best practices, and helping data scientists deliver maximum value from our work. I’ve mostly reflected on these topics on my blog more than anything else.
As for the usual “what’s the latest”, I think Sophia Yang’s YouTube channel is an excellent place to keep up with the latest without being drawn into the hype. Highly recommended!
Going forward, I am going to experiment with a different, but shorter, newsletter format. Each time I post it’ll be tight in scope and follow the direction of inspiration from my blog, but always with a focus on delivering something insightful that I think you might benefit from.
As such, I’m also going to rename the newsletter. I am horrible with names (and hence horribly bad at the hardest problem in Computer Science); provisionally it’ll just be “Eric’s Data Science Newsletter”.
I hope you’ll enjoy the new format, and more important, that you’ll benefit from the content coming forth!
Cheers,
Eric
